1. Information We Do Not Collect

Anki N2-JLPT Test does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data whatsoever. We have no servers, no analytics pipeline, no backend. There is no account to create and no login required.

• No name, email address, or contact information
• No device identifiers or advertising IDs
• No usage analytics, crash reports sent to us, or telemetry
• No location data
• No purchase history beyond what Apple manages directly

2. Your Study Data

All study progress, test scores, flashcard performance, streak data, and AI-generated study plans are stored exclusively in your device's local storage (Core Data / iCloud sync if you have enabled iCloud on your device). This data is yours — we never access it, and it never leaves your device unless you choose to back it up yourself via iCloud.

3. AI Study Coach — Apple Intelligence

The AI Study Coach feature is powered by Apple's on-device language model (requires iOS 26+ and Apple Intelligence enabled). All AI inference happens locally on your processor. No prompts, responses, performance data, or any other content is sent to Anthropic, Apple's cloud, or any third party. Apple's own privacy commitments for Apple Intelligence apply — see apple.com/privacy.

4. Audio

Native Japanese audio is bundled within the app bundle itself. No network request is made to stream or fetch audio content. The microphone is never accessed.

5. Subscriptions & Purchases

Pro subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple's App Store via StoreKit. We never see your payment card details, Apple ID, or transaction information. Subscription management is handled through your Apple ID settings.

6. Third-Party SDKs

The app contains no third-party analytics SDKs (no Firebase, no Mixpanel, no Amplitude, no Facebook SDK, no Crashlytics). Apple's default crash reporting (opt-in by users in iOS settings) may collect anonymised diagnostics governed by Apple's own privacy policy.

7. Children

The app does not knowingly collect information from anyone, including children under 13. Because no data is collected from any user, the app is safe for users of all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we ever change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page and post the new version here. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Anki N2-JLPT Test ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use and Apple's Standard EULA. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

2. License Grant

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App on Apple devices you own or control, solely for your personal, non-commercial study purposes.

3. Free vs Pro Subscription

The App offers a free tier and a Pro subscription (monthly or annual) unlocking additional content.

• Free — first 10 lesson groups, first 3 test papers, quiz mode, audio, streak tracking, and progress stats.
• Pro — all 30 test papers, all lesson groups, streak freeze, JLPT readiness score, custom card editor, and full offline access.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period. Manage or cancel via Apple ID → Subscriptions. No refunds are issued for partial periods except as required by applicable law.

4. Intellectual Property

All content within the App — including vocabulary cards, questions, audio recordings, study materials, UI design, and AI-generated study plans — is the intellectual property of the developer or its licensors. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App's content.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Attempt to extract vocabulary databases or audio assets
• Use the App for commercial tutoring or redistribution without written permission
• Circumvent in-app purchase mechanisms

6. Educational Disclaimer

The App is designed as a study aid. While we strive for accuracy, we make no guarantee that use of the App will result in passing the JLPT N2 examination or any other test. The AI Study Coach generates personalised plans based on your in-app performance and is provided as a study suggestion tool, not a certified educational programme.

7. Availability & Updates

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the App at any time without notice. We may update these Terms at any time; continued use constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App.

9. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by applicable law. Disputes shall be resolved in accordance with Apple's App Store dispute resolution procedures where applicable.

10. Apple's Standard EULA

This App is licensed to you subject to Apple's Standard End User License Agreement . In the event of any conflict between these Terms and the Apple EULA, the Apple EULA shall prevail with respect to App Store terms.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is the AI coach really on-device?
Yes. It uses Apple's on-device language model introduced in iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence. No data is sent to any server — not ours, not Apple's cloud.

Which iOS version do I need?
iOS 26 or later is required for the AI Study Coach feature. All other features work on iOS 16+.

Can I switch the study plan language?
Yes — your AI-generated plan can be translated into any of the 13 supported languages with a single tap.

How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Go to Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone and select Anki N2-JLPT Test. You can cancel there at any time. Your Pro access continues until the end of the paid period.

Where is my study data stored?
Entirely on your device. If you have iCloud Drive enabled, iOS may back up the data to your personal iCloud account — this is controlled by your own iCloud settings and never accessible by us.
