FAQ

The AI Chat Sector requires Apple Intelligence, which is available on iPhone 15 Pro and later models running iOS 18.1 or higher. On older devices the app will run, but the AI chat feature will be unavailable.
No. All conversational AI processing uses Apple Intelligence running entirely on-device via Apple's FoundationModels framework. No chat transcripts or personal data are transmitted to our servers or any third-party service.
Because all data is stored locally on your device via SwiftData, simply deleting the app from your iPhone permanently removes all progress, XP, credits, and history. We do not retain any backup of your data.
No. Credits and XP are non-monetary virtual items used within the gamified learning system. They have no real-world monetary value and cannot be transferred, sold, or redeemed.

Privacy Policy

Our Core Principle: Data Sovereignty

Your information belongs to you and stays on your device. We do not operate remote databases of user data. We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any party.

On-Device AI — Apple Intelligence

  • What AI is used: The app's AI Chat Sector uses Apple's on-device FoundationModels framework (Apple Intelligence). This is not a third-party cloud AI service.
  • What data is processed: Your typed chat messages are processed locally on your device's Neural Engine to generate character responses.
  • Where data goes: Inference runs entirely on-device. No chat transcripts, messages, or personal data are transmitted to Apple servers, our servers, or any third-party AI service.
  • Your consent: By using the AI Chat Sector, you acknowledge that your input text is processed locally by Apple Intelligence. You may avoid using this feature entirely with no loss of core learning functionality.
  • No third-party AI service is used. If Apple changes how FoundationModels processes data, Apple's own privacy policy governs that interaction.

1. Data We Store Locally on Your Device

  • Learning progress (XP, pilot rank, lesson completion)
  • In-app credits and economy state
  • App preferences and settings

All of the above is stored exclusively via SwiftData on your device. We cannot access this data remotely.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

  • Name, email address, or contact information
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Location data
  • Biometric data or voice recordings
  • Chat transcripts or message history

3. Analytics & Crash Reporting

We do not use any third-party analytics or crash reporting SDK. If this changes in the future, this policy will be updated and users notified within the app before any data collection begins.

4. Data Retention & Deletion

Because all data is local, deleting the app from your device permanently removes all associated data. This is irreversible as we hold no server-side backup.

5. Children's Privacy

The app is rated 12+ and is designed for users aged 12 and above. We do not collect data from any user regardless of age, as no data ever leaves the device. Parents should be aware that the app includes AI chat features which, while constrained to Japanese language topics, involve open-ended conversation.

6. Regulatory Compliance

This policy is designed to comply with the App Store Review Guidelines, GDPR principles of data minimization and purpose limitation, and CCPA consumer privacy rights. Because no personal data is collected or transmitted, most regulatory obligations do not apply — but we commit to the spirit of these frameworks.

01 Scope of Service

Japanese.With.Fuji provides a gamified environment for Japanese language learning. AI-generated character responses are intended for educational simulation purposes and should not be relied upon as the sole source for critical or formal translations.

02 Device Compatibility & Performance

You acknowledge that the AI Chat Sector requires a device supporting Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer, iOS 18.1+). The core app remains functional on older devices; the AI chat feature will simply be unavailable.

03 In-App Economy — Credits & XP

Credits and XP earned within the app are non-monetary virtual items. They have no real-world monetary value, cannot be transferred between users, cannot be sold, and cannot be redeemed for legal tender.

04 Intellectual Property

All characters, UI designs, original artwork, and learning content are the intellectual property of the Japanese.With.Fuji development team (CoviewOrganization). Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license for personal, non-commercial use only.

05 Acceptable Use

  • Do not attempt to reverse-engineer or extract app assets.
  • Do not use the app in any way that violates applicable law.
  • The app is intended for personal educational use only.

06 Disclaimer of Warranties

The app is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, particularly for features dependent on Apple Intelligence availability on your device.

07 Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms. Significant changes will be communicated via an in-app notice.

08 Age Rating — 12+

This app is rated 12+ on the App Store. It is designed for users aged 12 and above. The app includes AI-powered chat features that involve open-ended conversational interaction, constrained to Japanese language learning topics. While no mature content is intentionally generated, parents and guardians should be aware of the AI chat nature of the app.

  • No violent, sexual, or explicitly mature content is present in the app.
  • AI responses are scoped to Japanese language and educational topics.
  • The app does not facilitate user-to-user communication of any kind.
